"Angels" is a 14 min. progressive rock epic song. 125 tracks went into the mix at the end of the recording. There are classical strings, piano and choir, blended with rock instruments: drums, bass, Hammond organ and other keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars, all these spiced up with electric sitar, hand percussion, and cool effects. The song has an intro and four parts:
The intro is instrumental only, and develops from a short psychedelic section into a panoramic movement.
Part 1 begins with an intimate soul exploration followed by a big and dramatic chorus.
Part 2 brings a melodic dialog between vocals, strings and lead guitar, in a nice harmony with the rest of the instruments.
Part 3 is pure insanity, very dramatic and Wagnerian, with great strings and guitar solo parts, enhanced by powerful drums, epic choir and great vocals.
Part 4 (the grand finale) brings back the hope, the chorus is big and powerful, the voice very emotional. The song ends up in the same psychedelic mood it has started in.
